Auditions are being Held this Saturday
Auditions for Friendship Players’ 2012 production of “The Curious Savage” will be held this Saturday, May 19, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, and Sunday, May 20, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm in the Choir Room. We are looking for 5 men and 6 women of various ages. More details to follow.
Confirmands to be Received this Sunday
We will add to our numbers, 29 youth this Sunday, as the completion of their Confirmation Training comes to a close. Join us this Sunday at the 10:00 service to welcome these new young people into the life of our Church. There will be a reception for the youth following the service.
Fallston United Methodist Church, a large established congregation in Fallston, MD, with a proud history and a bright future, is looking for a person of Christian faith and character to perform facility custodial and janitorial duties. Working a 20-hour flexible part-time schedule, the successful applicant demonstrates excellent attention to detail, an ability to work independently, and demonstrates a pride in workmanship exhibited through a facility which presents an uncompromisingly clean and inviting appearance. Prior experience in a commercial custodial or janitorial environment is preferred. Salary up to $12,740 per year depending on your qualifications. Live your Faith – Make a Difference!
New Hope Outreach Ministries operates a day shelter in Edgewood. This shelter provides breakfast, lunch, fellowship and support services for homeless individuals and those in need in Harford County. Fallston United Methodist Church provides lunch at New Hope Outreach Ministries in Edgewood on the 4th Wednesday of every month. Volunteers are needed to serve on the following days: Wednesday, May 23, June 27, July 25, August 22, September 26and October 24.
What is involved in volunteering you ask? Typically two volunteers attend each time. You can either purchase or make food for a hot lunch for approximately 20 people. The cost of the food is covered by the FUMC’s Missions budget. The food must be prepared and ready to serve when you arrive at the shelter. You should arrive at the shelter around 11:45 am. on the day you are to serve. Usually you are able to leave the shelter after lunch, around 1:00 pm. The shelter is located in the New Hope Christian Fellowship United Methodist Church at 2048 Watergate Court in Edgewood, Maryland 21040.

Our next New Member Class will be held on June 3, in the conference room, at 11:15 am, immediately after the 10:00 service. It will last about 1 – 1½ hours. The date for joining will be decided during this class. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Lisa Greenlundor Pastor John Campbell or Pastor Stacey Nickerson. You may also contact the church office. Childcare is provided.
We have planned a special recognition of graduates for Sunday, June 10, during both worship services. If you know of persons who are graduating from High School, College, Technical Schools or Graduate School, please communicate the information to Pastor Stacey ASAP.
Golf Tournament Set for June 11
FUMC’s 14th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at Winters Run Golf Course on Monday, June 11. This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year; proceeds go to various FUMC fundings that support our growing church family and community. We are looking for golfers, prizes, raffle gifts, and auction items. Vacation Bible Set for June 17-21
Adventures on Promise Island blows into Friendship Center with palms and cool summer breezes on June 17 – 21. Click this link to our VBS website to learn the details and times. An adult group will meet at the same time again this year. Help is always welcome in every area; and you can register kids, adults and volunteers on the website.
Summer Music Volunteers Needed
You can contribute to summer worship services by sharing your musical ability with the congregation! This is an opportunity to enhance worship with your personal flavor of music. Musicians who wish to contribute solo or small-ensemble music performance to both worship services on a Sunday in July or August should please contact (in person or by email).
