Our Mission & Staff

Our mission is to grow in discipleship as we experience God’s grace in worship, explore God’s grace in study and express God’s grace in outreach. We invite you to join us on this journey of faith.

Leadership Team:

Pastor John Campbell

A native of Maryland John began his ministry at Fallston on July 1, 2010.  Prior to being at Fallston, John served as the District Superintendent to the reestablished United Methodist Church in Lithuania, as a missionary.  John and his wife Bonnie (also a pastor) served as missionaries in Alaska for 15 years in addition to appointments in the Baltimore Washington Conference.  John is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, has two Masters degrees from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and did post-graduate course work at Wesley Seminary.  He loves music, camping, traveling, reading and the movies. In his work as a missionary he has a special admiration for the “connecting” aspects of the United Methodist Church around the globe.  He is also passionate about his preaching and teaching role as a pastor and likes the administrative work of the church and working in a team setting.  His wife Bonnie serves as the pastor of the Presbury United Methodist Church in Edgewood.  They are parents of 4 children and 7 grandchildren and are happy to be much closer to all of them since their return from Lithuania.

Pastor Stacey Nickerson

Stacey grew up in Perry Hall United Methodist Church and began to consider pursuing ordained ministry at a young age.  In June of 2010 she celebrated her 25th anniversary of ordination.  She graduated from Mary Washington College and Boston University.  Her Doctor of Ministry degree is from Wesley Theological Seminary.  Having served as a pastor in several Baltimore area congregations, she is excited to be a part of a team ministry here at Fallston.  Stacey is married to Rick Dusek and they have two teenage sons.  Their family loves sports, especially lacrosse, and enjoys their yellow lab puppy, Gracie May and their cat, Tommy Girl.  In addition to spending time with her family, Stacey especially enjoys singing and playing the piano.

Rosalie Cummings, Church Administrator

As Church Administrator of Fallston United Methodist Church, Rosalie’s is the friendly voice you will most likely hear if you ever have the occasion to call the church office. In addition to fielding phone calls, she takes care of everything that comes through the church office, a formidable task. Having just celebrated 31 years of service to FUMC, she has the distinction of being the longest continually employed staff person. She has two married daughters and three grandchildren, enjoys doing jigsaw and word puzzles and loves collecting all things that are cat related. Even though she is not a member of FUMC she tells us that she has stayed so long because of the wonderful people in the congregation, many of whom have become good friends. She is pleased to be a part of all that is happening at FUMC!

Lisa Greenlund, Congregational Care

Lisa’s journey into Congregational Care began in 1993 when an Associate Pastor asked Lisa to join her, as a volunteer, in creating and establishing this ministry. Nine years later they had 21 active and necessary ministries under the congregational care umbrella. By this time she had also completed a two-year course from Wesley Seminary and became Certified in Congregational Care. With God’s guidance and following His plan for her life, she knows that “bringing comfort to the hurting within our congregation and community is what I’m supposed to be doing. What a joy it is to love doing what God planned for my life.”

Valeree Imperiale, Child Care Center Director

Val came to Fallston Child Care Center as a summer volunteer when she was twelve years old. Twenty-five years later, she is honored to serve as Director of what she believes to be the best preschool in Harford County. She has truly grown up with this job, beginning as an aide and then progressing to teacher, Assistant Director, and Director. Often people ask her, “why would you want to be with children all day?” To which she replies, “Why would you want to do anything else?” When she is not at Fallston Child Care Center, she is very busy with her family. She was happy to recently welcome home her husband, Rino, from a two-year deployment in Afghanistan. Their kids, Anthony, Abbey, and RJ, keep them very busy at all times. “Every morning when I open the Center at 6:30 am, I know that I am blessed to be surrounded with the people who work, play, and worship at Fallston United Methodist Church.”

Debby Lawrence, Treasurer

Debby has served as the treasurer at FUMC since January, 2007. As treasurer, she is responsible for the disbursement of all funds received into the church treasury as well as preparing and communicating financial reports to the Finance Committee and Church Council monthly. She is married with two teen-age boys and a Labrador Retriever. She enjoys watching her sons participate in their sports and music/theater activities, long walks, needlepoint, and reading. She can also be found volunteering with the Harford County Partners in Reading program as well as Fallston High School Boosters program.

Fred Rheinhardt, Organist

As our Church Organist since September 1991, Fred plays for all church services and weddings and also accompanies our Chancel Choir.  He is retired from Baltimore County Public Schools and is now a teacher at a private school.

Paula Roberty, Choir Director

Paula joined the staff of Fallston United Methodist Church in January of 2010. Previously, she was employed thirty-two and one half years as a high school choral director. Paula holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education, and thirty credits beyond the Masters degree in Administration and Supervision. Paula was confirmed as a child in the Methodist church, and enjoys the opportunity to serve the people of the Fallston United Methodist Church as its Choir Director.

Nancy Skinner, Office Assistant

Nancy assumed the responsibilities of Office Assistant for FUMC in November 2009. In this position she works closely with Rosalie, the Church Administrator, to assist with any of the various tasks that are handled by the church office on a daily basis. On a weekly basis, she updates the website.  She married her husband Mike and moved to Harford County in 1994 and became a member of FUMC in 1995. When she is not at church, she keeps busy with her three children (two boys and a girl), and their school work and sport activities. You will also find Nancy volunteering in the church nursery on Sundays.

Deborah Sugg, Director of Education

Deborah has been a member of our congregation for many years and has taught Sunday School here for sixteen years. She was recently called to become the Director of Christian Education at FUMC. She is married to Dan and has two daughters, Hunter Lea and Bethany. She grew up in Fallston and is blessed to have extended families nearby. She has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a masters degree in publications and media design. She enjoys photography, outdoor recreation and keeping active with Girl Scouts, sports and her family.

Loretta Himmler, Custodian

Loretta joined FUMC as the custodian in October.  She was looking for a place to work with friendly faces, close to home, and flexible hours to work as she pursues re-entering the work force.  Years ago, Loretta was a school counselor, and made the enriching decision to stay home with her 4 children for a while.  Now, the children are in school, and Loretta has spent the past couple years substituting as a teacher and school counselor in Harford County in hopes that a permanent assignment will come to be in time.   Working for FUMC allows the flexibility and fantastic staff support that Loretta needs as she continues to pursue a permanent school counselor assignment.  Loretta and her husband, Doug, and the kids are all very involved with the Boy and Girl Scout troops affiliated with FUMC, as well as some sports here and there, and seeing family and friends as often as possible!
